Back to the Washington Original Theatre Installations page
The Jewell Theatre had a one-manual (no pedal), seven-rank tubular pneumatic organ with 58-note roll-player installed in 1908. The organ was sold, through Sherman Clay Seattle.

According to Eugene Nye writing in the Seattle Times July 22 1956, the organ was later repossessed by the Estey Company and resold to the Mittelstadt Mortuary in Seattle.

The instrument was removed in 1956 and donated by the mortuary to the First Free Methodist Church at 58 W. Dravus St. for installation in the wedding chapel. The organ was electrified and given a new console at this time.
