Portland, Oregon
Organ installation timeframe:      - 2012

Back to the Northwest Theatre Organ History: Residences page

Kurtis Knight was a long time organist at the Organ Grinder in Portland and Uncle Milts in Vancouver. Kurtis assembled a nice theatre organ in his home which he referred to as the "Mongrel Morton." The instrument included many rare and interesting sets of pipes, percussions, and traps.

Kurtis passed away on Saturday November 17, 2018 in Portland from esophageal cancer. In the years just prior to his death, Kurtis sold off most of the parts from the pipe organ to help pay medical bills, but he retained an electronic organ and synthesizer which he played up until his passing.
