Deagan Marimba (c.1920s) $750. Back to the Items for Sale main page

The unit is a Deagan 49 note instrument with metal resonators arranged in two rows (24/25). It is from the theatre-organ era and is (A-435). The action is an external pneumatic-type in original condition. It will understandably need a complete rebuild. Several of the hammer arms are broken but they are all there.

The unit will also need end panels to mount the instrument and action. These were missing when I got it. The bar surfaces have some scratches and will need to be refinished. In spite of these items, the unit is complete and rebuildable. I helped a friend successfully re-tune a similar instrument to A-440 without difficulty.

The bars are 15/16" thick. The largest is 2-1/2" wide and 18-3/8" long. The shortest is 2" wide and 7-7/8" long
